Hanging out and riding with your team mates its always been one of our favorite times, especially guys that ride different disciplines don’t often ride together, so having a trip at least once a year its super cool. Thats when we came up with the idea to do a trip and shoot a video with Italian Cabrinha team, a talented group of young guys from different sides of Italy. We wanted to show them the different conditions that Sicily has to offer and just have a good time together. Its been fun hanging out, riding everyday and seeing them pushing each other in the water!
ALESSIO PINTUS
Who are you and how did you get into Cabrinha team?
I started kiteboarding when I was 10 years old because I went with my dad to see the kiters in Porto Botte and so I went in the lagoon of mistras to try kite and to that day I started.
What is your kiteboarding style and where would you like to see your career in 5 years?
When I entered to the Cabrinha Italy team, I was very well in the cable and I improved very fast in kite. Every year Alberto Rondina went to Porto Botte for do the demo day of new gear. He saw that I improved very fast, so one day he has called the guy of the kiteschool in Porto Botte and after some days he asked me if I wanted to enter in the Cabrinha Italy team.
How was the shooting in Sicily for you? Happy with tricks?
For me the shooting in Sicily was very nice and I enjoyed. I am happy for the tricks but I wanted do also other tricks, never happy haha.
What was the best spot around the lagoon and why?
The best spot in the lagoon for me was the island because was often windy and was every time super flat with all direction of wind, really special place.
How did you enjoy shooting your intro?
The shooting for my intro was super funny. For my intro we went to go kart and I had to do a competition and, when the that said that was windy, I had to stop the kart and run to the exit of the circuit. After the shooting we did a competition of go kart just for fun.

In Sicily my favorite food was the “cannolo siciliano”. Really good but not making dentist happy haha.

MATTEO SERRA
Who are you and how did you get into Cabrinha team?
Hi my name is Matteo Serra, I’m 27 years old and I live in Sardinia. I started kiting 10 years ago, but it’s 5 years that I work hard on it,I learned from my brother and some friends that started before me. It was not so easy to learn, because I only had youtube videos to watch. I did some Italian championship stop, I got the second position in the last stop here in Porto Botte.I meet a lot of people and share training sessions with them, and my cooperation together with Cabrinha started in Porto Botte, thanks to Markino who helped me and introduced me to Alby.
What is your kiteboarding style and where would you like to see your career in 5 years?
Freestyle is my discipline, and I hope I will do more competitions in the next five years, and to land more tricks reaching high satisfaction.
How was the shooting in Sicily for you? Happy with tricks?
The video making was great and it was really good to spend time with all crew. I’m happy about my sessions but I think I could have pushed more.
What was the best spot around the lagoon and why?
The best spot is one close the island, with flat water and a lot of space for training.
How did you enjoy shooting your intro?
I enjoyed a lot during the shooting. Laci had great ideas for our intro, my part was the one where I was proposing a girl at the pier and in the crucial moment, a message comes to say IT’S WINDY and I run away.
Favorite food in Sicily?
I really like arancini with ragù.
Plans for the next season?
I’m going to Australia and I will be there for 6 months. I hope to find there a lot of kiters and train with them.
YARIS DELL’OMO
Who are you and how did you get into Cabrinha team?
Hi I started kitesurfing in 2006 but I didn’t get passionate about it right away, because initially I did artistic gymnastics and then I started playing soccer. In 2016 I tried for the first time the surf in Cape Verde and I became passionate about kitesurfing. In 2017 I had my first sponsor, I spent 2 years with them and then moved to Cabrinha in September 2018 thanks to Stefano Viscuso who had contacted them and talked about what I was doing.
What is your kiteboarding style and where would you like to see your career in 5 years?
The style that best represents me is the freestyle or wave strapless, but sometimes I also like going with the twin tip to do some big air. Well honestly from here in 5 years I would not know where I see myself but with perseverance and commitment, I hope to arrive among the first in the world.
How was the shooting in Sicily for you? Happy with tricks?
The shooting went very well and it was great to do it with the other guys from the team who are very nice. Yes I can’t complain about how the sessions went, fortunately we caught wind almost every day and luckily the last day of shooting there were also a few waves. I gave my best but by training a little more I can do even better.
How did you enjoy shooting your intro?
Yes, I had a great time. I practically worked as a waiter for a day taking orders and bringing some cocktails to the table while I was at the table and when I got the message “it’s windy” I ran away to go kitesurfing, it was fantastic.
Favorite food in Sicily?
My favorite food in Sicily is arancini al ragù and cannoli with pistachio.
Plans for the next season?
I still haven’t planned anything for next year but I think I will participate in the stages of the GKA kitesurf world tour and the Italian wave championship.

MATTHIAS LANCSAR
Who are you and how did you get into Cabrinha team?
Hi, my name is Matthias Lancsár, I’m 19 years old and I live in South Tyrol. Currently I am studying sports science in Innsbruck, Austria. Alby became the new Cabrinha-Agent for Italy back in 2014. He was trying to put together a young team of riders and people at my homespot Lake Garda told him about me, so he decided to contact me.
What is your kiteboarding style and where would you like to see your career in 5 years?
I’ve always been into freestyle as we don’t have any waves on Lake Garda. As I’m free to travel to different spots now, in five years I see myself kiting in waves and enjoying every different discipline of kiteboarding, without focusing too much on landing new tricks for competitions.
How was the shooting in Sicily for you? Happy with tricks?
Oh, we had such a blast! It’s been an amazing week meeting up with the guys after quite a while. Unluckily I dislocated my shoulder just a few days before the shoot so I couldn’t show the best of my riding. But still, Prokite Alby Rondina delivered and there’s just nothing like kiting with your friends around.
What was the best spot around the lagoon and why?
I have no doubt we had our best session on the North Cape of the island Santa Maria, just in front of Prokite AR. The sun was going down and as it’s been windy all day. We were the only ones left in the water and everybody did their best tricks. Water is that mirror flat there, you can see the refection of your kite. If you’re around Stagnone go visit that place at sunset, it’s goosebumps guaranteed!
How did you enjoy shooting your intro?
For my intro we went to a local barber’s shop and I had to shave half of my face. I thought the idea was pretty fun but AFTER shaving Laci told me we had to wait for some proper wind to do some shots in the water, so I ran around with half of my face shaved for a day…
Favorite food in Sicily?
Except the fruits, which just taste better in Sicily, I would eat arancine every day when I get there, they’re delicious! It’s fried rice balls with spinach, ragout, prosciutto or whatever inside… The whole team loves them!
Plans for the next season?
This winter I’ll be pretty busy with my studies but I’ll see to get back to kite on the lakes as soon as possible in spring and then I guess I’ll be teaching for the summer at some windy spot around the world 😛
